It is with great joy that Galleri Sebastian Schildt presents metal artist Tobias Birgersson and bookbinder extraordinaire Wolfgang Bremer in the joint exhibition “Body, Contained”.
The exhibition features sculptures based on gourds – the voluptuous African fruit which is likely to be one of our earliest kinds of vessels. By the application of various colour pigments, platinum, palladium and 24k goldleaf – the gourds assume new sculptural forms.
“Body, Contained” also presents photographer Christian Habetzeder, who has captured the sculptures in a series of photographs where the naked human body accentuates the sinuous, natural and timeless quality of the gourds.
