Stockholm Craft Week: Bombyx Mori – Toolness of the Loom

Stockholm Craft Week:
Bombyx Mori – Toolness of the Loom

October 2nd – November 2nd 2024
at K. A. Almgren silk mill & museum

During Sthlm Craft Week, metal artist and object maker Tobias Birgersson will exhibit at K. A. Almgren silk mill & museum. The exhibition will show newly created works that are inspired by silk weaving – but in slightly different materials than what we are used to at K. A. Almgren silk mill & museum.

K. A. Almgren silk mill & museum is the only still active silk factory that remains in Scandinavia. Here, silk fabrics and ribbons are woven on original machines in their original factory environment from the 1860s. It is also a place for exhibitions and programs where textiles run like a common thread. It is a place where present and history meet.

Bombyx Mori – Toolness of the Loom

Welcome to “Bombyx Mori – Toolness of the Loom” an exhibition featuring works by metal artist and object maker Tobias Birgersson.
